CHAWK LINES -- Week in review

At Texas Rangers camp, Russell Wilson didn’t have anything to say about his contract. But he talked about a lot of other things, including what he said to Max Unger after the center was traded to New Orleans: “Max, at least you are going from one short quarterback to another (Drew Brees).”

Brees also talked about losing Jimmy Graham and gaining Unger.

John Schneider talked to John Clayton at UW’s Pro Day. Not much new stuff, but the GM did explain the signing of Ahtyba Rubin and talk a little bit about the big picture with Wilson and Bobby Wagner.

Steve Schilling, who had an offer to return to Seattle, retired. But the Hawks did re-sign Demarcus Dobbs, Jesse Williams & Will Tukuafu — and have expanded plans for the latter.

Field Gulls recapped all of the Seahawks’ recent deals. Of course, we have them all right here, too.

Offseason workout dates were announced. Recall that the Hawks are being docked two days of their minicamp in June because they ran a real football practice last offseason (per the NFPLA, it’s unfair to ask guys who make CEO salaries to actually work for their money year round).

Wilson and his skill players will work out together in Hawaii this month.

Legion of Boomers Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor turned 27.

Ohio State adopted Seattle’s rugby-style tackling technique last year.

Bruce Irvin — probably Seattle’s biggest chucklehead — pulled an unfunny April Fool’s joke. ran down the big moves by Seattle’s 2015 opponents. Highlights: Detroit lost Ndamukong Suh, Baltimore lost Torrey Smith, and Dallas lost DeMarco Murray (but added Greg Hardy).
